Last Sunday, 29th September, Unpsychology held our tenth anniversary and Edges issue launch event at the Outhouse in Edinburgh. Patrick travelled up from London and co-hosted the party, with Julia serving as MC.
Guests arrived from Edinburgh and Glasgow, as well as from around the central belt, east coast and Borders area of Scotland and from as far as Aberdeen, Newcastle and even Vermont USA!
It was a really special gathering. We held some space for editors
(who couldn't attend from Wales due to a family bereavement) and (who resides in New Zealand!) and we celebrated with music, drinks and readings from the magazine, courtesy of those assembled. What a fantastic line-up!
We heard readings from Imma J Lopez, Darlene Witte, Lisa Jones, Emily-Rose, Wendy Robertson Fyfe, Mike Moss, Jena Griffiths, Finola Scott and Olena (ie. Mrs Jesse Bailey), who read on his behalf as he's currently abroad.)
We also heard selections read on behalf of Hannah-May Batley and Kim Schnuelle. And Tamsin Haggis sent her beautiful video clip to be viewed, with its reflection about edges, inspired by Unpsychology (look out for Tamsin’s video, we’ll be posting it here next week).
Altogether the event was a smashing success: thank you to everyone who came along and especially to our contributors who shared their wonderful words and images.
Keep a look out for more developments in the Unpsychology eco-system, as we head towards making plans (publishing and event-wise) for 2025 and beyond! And don't forget , you can pick up FREE PDF versions of all previous issues of Unpsychology - including the most recent, issue 10 - Edges and print editions too.
